Ruth Rosales #1

Last week, we met with a few people from the NCCSE at a location they had off of Mission Ave. here in San Marcos. I liked that their room was small and clean, but as we were informed, most of our focus would be about them “outside the classroom” and doing more “hands on work. Moreover, we all discussed various ways to tackle their video. My role during the meeting was being an active participant (like everyone else) in asking questions or for clarification when needed. Furthermore, I took down brief notes about what key points they wanted to address in their short video.

Notes from our meeting:

--It's about students with disabilities (18-22) who usually get no h.s. diploma

Goal:

--want people (employers) to feel comfortable even though they have unique needs

--persuade employers that we are providing them with "adequate" employees

--make deaf students understand that they too, can be in the program and continue

--families and parents should/will see this as well

--parents: let go of their fears and promote independence of their kids

Furthermorore, we talk to Mike and Angela about employee/employer interviews, so let's be sure to touch base with them so we can get employee stuff taken care of (as it is seemingly the hardest), the rest should be easy to film.
We also agreed to film Tuesdays (mostly) and Fridays (those of us that could).

We received their logo and they should be reviewing their own release forms.
